Volkswagen reserves the GTX name for its sportiest electric vehicles. The German carmaker hopes GTX badge will be to electric cars what GTI is to ICE cars » affordable, practical fun.
The VW ID.4 GTX is the first car to get the GTX badge and along with it it gets a second motor with an extra 101bhp in the front, making it all-wheel drive. The ID.4 GTX’s total power output is just under 300bhp which allows it to get from 0-100kph (62mph) in 6.2 seconds, and it has a slightly higher top speed of 180kph (112mph). And it gets some slightly more racy body styling.
