Ford has paused production and shipments of its all-electric F-150 Lightning pickup due to a potential battery issue.
Ford spokes person Emma Bergg declined to elaborate but wanted to reassure owners.
Ford is unaware of any incidents or issues associated with the potential battery issue, Bergg said. There is no stop-sale for vehicles already on dealer lots, meaning dealers can continue to sell vehicles they have on hand.
Nothing is official at this stage, but Autocar UK sources have confirmed that the VW ID 2 will be the first Volkswagen based on the MEB-Plus platform – an updated version of today’s widely used MEB electric car structure that features new lithium iron phosphate (LFP) prismatic battery cells and charging speeds of up to 200kW.
Wards Auto is reporting that Volkswagen radically altered its plans for the upcoming VW ID.2, providing the entry-level electric model with a completely new exterior and interior design that is tentatively scheduled to be previewed on a concept car in March. Set to go on sale in selected global markets in 2025 at a targeted price of US$24,000, the compact 5-seater will receive VW’s iconic Golf name, according to insiders at the automaker’s Wolfsburg headquarters in Germany.

BMW is moving ahead with the all-electric MINI Cooper SE Convertible, claiming it to be the world’s first locally emission-free premium convertible in the small car segment.
From April 2023, the MINI Cooper SE Convertible will be available in Europe in a limited number of 999 vehicles.
“Three years ago we launched the all-electric MINI Cooper SE, and today one in five MINI sold in Europe is an all-electric MINI. This success has spurred us to implement the small series of the MINI Cooper SE Convertible within only a few months.
