The City of Repentigny showed off what they claim to be the first all-electric patrol car in Quebec capable of responding to emergency calls, a Ford Mustang Mach-E.
In February, the City of Repentigny announced that it would retrofit a Ford Mustang Mach-E to create their municipality’s first EV patrol car.
The EV patrol car was introduced at annual meetings of the Union of Municipalities of Quebec (UMQ) on May 13. Before it starts patrolling the Montreal suburb, the Mach-E will be on a bit of tour, being displayed this weekend at the Quebec City Electric Vehicle Show, then the New York City Fleet Show, May 25-26. It will then be introduced at a gathering of Quebec police forces.
The Mach-E will be put into service on June 6 in the streets of Repentigny and Charlemagne. This test phase, which will extend for six months, will test the Mach-E in a real policing environment.
