Volvo Cars is a Swedish multinational manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Torslanda, Gothenburg.
In 1999, Volvo Cars separated from AB Volvo, and the division was sold to the Ford Motor Company. In 2010, Ford sold loss-making Volvo Cars to the company Geely. While we wait for Volvo’s promised electric onslaught of mid-size and compact electric sedans and crossovers, the Swedes have give us a sample of what is to come with the sub-compact XC40.
The Volvo XC40 is smaller than the Ford Mustang Mach E and the Tesla Model Y. It’s about the size of an Audi Q3 or Mercedes GLA, with 402 horsepower.
