An all-electric Land Rover Defender is expected to join the line-up in 2025, with a promises 480km (300 mi) of range.

The move is likely to mean a switch in platform tech, from the current D7 Premium Lightweight Architecture to Land Rover’s advanced new MLA Flex platform. MLA can support fully electric powertrains as well as internal combustion engines, and already underpins the firm’s new Range Rover and Range Rover Sport models, with all-electric versions of those cars due from 2024.

There is no word if the Defender EV will make it to Canada or the U.S.

2023 Audi Q4 e-tron reviewed (5 times)

The 2023 Audi Q4 e-tron is Audi’s most affordable EV available in North America. The fully electric, two-row SUV is equipped with a single-speed transmission and rear-wheel drive. The Q4 e-tron has a US EPA estimated range of only 265 miles (426 km) in US trim.

Audi want you to believe the battery can be charged from 5 to 80 percent in just 36 real minutes on a DC fast charge. The reality appears to be must different.

Some of the safety features included are adaptive cruise assist with lane guidance, side assist with rear cross traffic assist, park assist, and lane departure warning.

Its putting down 295 horsepower and 339 lb-ft of torque from 2 electric motors and a 77kwh battery.

At $76,440 Canadian, Yuri and Jaku, the reviewers at The Straight Pipes, suggest you take it over its little sister, the VW ID4. Would you? Should you?

Flying cars may have been a sign of the times on “The Jetsons,” but in real life, electric vehicles (EVs) are ushering us into the future. Just as gas-powered engines replaced horse-drawn carts a century ago, EVs are disrupting the industry and setting the standard for the next hundred years of auto innovation.

In short, EVs are taking over. EV sales in the U.S. rose 62% in the first half of this year, and now make up 5% of new car sales. While this may sound small, it actually marks a tipping point for EV adoption. The shift to EVs could also accelerate rapidly, as drivers are still feeling squeezed by higher gas prices. In fact, searches for “best gas mileage” are growing globally by 90% year over year. And, according to industry analysts, about 45% of new car sales could be electric by 2035.

These numbers have helped automakers see the EV light. They’re investing over $526 billion in an all-electric future, which includes building new assembly lines and parts, learning to produce and store batteries, and preparing for changing tax implications.

But is their marketing keeping pace too? As brands work to get EVs in the hands of consumers, many auto marketers are still relying on an outdated playbook. Here are three ways they can rethink stale strategies and make their EV marketing as electric as their vehicles.

Ford Motor said Friday that it has achieved CEO Jim Farley’s goal of becoming the second best-selling automaker of electric vehicles in the U.S.

The Detroit automaker, citing third-party industry data, narrowly topped Hyundai/Kia to hit the goal. Tesla
remains the industry leader by a wide margin, but has been losing market share as more EVs enter the market.

Ford said its share of the electric vehicle segment was 7.4% through November, up from 5.7% a year earlier.

Ford reported sales of 53,752 all-electric vehicles in the U.S. through November. Tesla, which does not break out domestic results, reported global deliveries of more than 908,000 EVs through the third quarter.
